Ok, so I’m definitely generalising here, but A LOT of the time when I’m talking to a new potential client or in a networking meeting somebody will say 1 of 2 things:
- Oh God, I hate using Canva/making documents, I just want someone else to do it; OR
- Oh I love making them, but it takes me ages and I know I should be doing something else!
Do you fall into 1 of these 2 camps?
In case you’re wondering the 3rd kind of person is the entrepreneur who outsources some of their business already because they know they can get more time back, work ON their business with that extra time and then make more money!
The funny thing is, when I started out on my entrepreneurial journey, this business wasn’t my original idea! I began as a Professional Organiser (because we all know I love being organised!) but then Covid hit so I couldn’t go into people’s houses. Also, if I’m honest, it wasn’t really for me. I firmly believe in decluttering, but my passion didn’t seem to be as ‘lit up’ doing it in someone else’s house for 6 hours.
So fast forward a bit, I turn to the hubby and say “I don’t know what to do, making these lead magnets and social media posts is the only bit I’m enjoying!” Of course the man has more common sense than me, looks me straight in the eye and says “Well just do that bit then, but for other people?” Duh!
It’s so simple when I look back on it now, but it didn’t occur to me that I could separate the peripheral items I was doing for my business (making planners, e-books, worksheets, social media posts etc.) and do them alone. I was a bit hesitant, because sometimes you just don’t think something you really enjoy doing is going to match up with something people really want….scrap that, NEED! Boy was I wrong!
As it turned out, nearly every business owner needs it. Whether they are in a position to outsource something like that is a different story (and don’t worry, I’ll be here to help when you’re ready). But just knowing that it was a real need and that people are so relieved to get help with it is honestly so uplifting!
So to sum up, I AM the person who LOVES sitting in Canva, creating pdfs and posts so that you (whether you’re in camp 1 or 2) don’t have to. You can just get on with the business of…well, your business!
